An excellent African 19th Century Yaka Congo Tribal Sword. A good and distinctive example of a late-19th Century African Yaka Congo warrior’s tribal sword. This is a well made example with an iron mounted hilt, brass studs and leather wrap to the grip. The blade is double-edged with deeply grooved patterns to most of its length.
Unusual and distinctive scabbard
It comes complete with a stitched leather grip and pronounced swollen tip. In good overall condition – some iron bars missing – end of scabbard with damage. Blade length is 16 inches (24 inches overall).
