A good example of a British 19th Century 1821 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Officer’s Sword – Wilkinson
This sword was made by Wilkinson Sword in 1870 and comprises a pierced steel acanthus-leafed hilt and fishskin and silver wire grip. The blade is well etched with royal crown, “VR” cypher and scrolling foliage. The blade edge is stamped with the serial number – 16889 – giving a manufacture/purchase date of 1870. Cannot find any owner’s details to date. Comes complete with original scabbard.

In excellent overall condition.
