Turkish/Balkan 19th Century Yataghan Sword and Scabbard
A Turkish or Balkan 19th Century Yataghan with horn eared grip with brass mounts, fastened with iron nails. The long, curved blade is singled-edged and with brass inlaid decoration. This type of sword was popular from the 18th Century right through until the 20th Century and carried by both soldier and citizen. Complete with leather on wood scabbard.
Condition of the Yataghan
With wear to the grip and blade commensurate with its age. Leather to the scabbard showing wear.
Specifications of the Yataghan
Blade length is 24 inches (29 inches overall).
