Rare and original British 1804 Pattern Naval Cutlass
This is a particularly rare example because the blade is stamped with the remains of a royal cypher (“W”) that probably indicate use and issue during the reign of King William IV (1830-1837). The cutlass has a typical 1804 Pattern “figure of eight” iron hilt with a grooved grip. The blade is flat-backed and unfullered.
Condition of the Cutlass
In excellent condition with no repairs or damage.
Specifications of the Cutlass
Blade length is 28.5 inches (33 inches overall).
