Large c.1900 Machete Cutlass
Here is a large c.1900 machete cutlass with a hardwood grip and large, wide blade. The pommel is of beak-type. Maker marked to blade. Of a type carried in colonial areas and used both as a weapon and a tool for clearing undergrowth. Large numbers of these edged weapons were also sold to merchant ships and carried on board. The blade is impressed with a coiled snake and the letters CAST STEEL underneath.

In worn condition overall.
