Austro-Hungarian Model 1891 Naval NCO’s/Bandsman’s Sword
The Austro-Hungarian Model 1891 Naval NCO’s/Bandsman’s Sword is one of the rarest Imperial Austrian swords that you can come across and the few that are surviving are found in important collections and museums. Please see the images below from the definitive book on Austro-Hungarian swords – With Drawn Sword – Austro-Hungarian Edged Weapons 1848-1918. Very few were produced and issued and only for a short period. The sword comprises a pierced brass hilt with fouled anchor and imperial crown. The grip is fishskin and retains its original twistwire. Blade is plain and of pipe back and quill point profile. It comes complete with its original brass and leather mounted scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
In good overall condition – some light staining to the blade and reapair to stitching at bottom of the scabbard.

Blade length is 22 inches (28 inches overall).
