An attractive example of an African Masai Warrior’s Seme Long Knife and Scabbard. With typical red and leather bound hilt on a wooden core. The double-edged blade is unfullered and flat-backed, with a long, leaf-shaped profile and a shallow, incised pattern to the edge. These knives were probably carried alongside the traditional arm dagger that are particularly associated with Masai warriors. The knife comes complete with its original tooled leather scabbard with leather fringes to the bottom. Condition is very good with some wear to the blade. This dagger probably dates to the 20th Century. Blade length is 13.5 inches (19 inches overall).
