Excellent British 1804 Pattern Napoleonic Naval Seaman’s Cutlass
A good example of a British 1804 Pattern Napoleonic Naval Seaman’s Cutlass. This is an original “figure of eight” naval cutlass carried by British sailors throughout the Napoleonic Wars. With iron disc hilt and grooved grip. The blade is wide, plain and unfullered – quite typical of this pattern – would have been an effective fighting sword on board a British man-of-war.
Condition of the Cutlass
In good overall condition with light wear to the hilt and blade.
Specifications of the Cutlass
Blade length is 28.5 inches (33.5 inches overall).
