A scarce British 19th Century 3rd Dragoon Guards Officer’s Sword
This is a rarely encountered British 19th Century 3rd Dragoon Guards Officer’s Sword. The sword is of 1821 Light Cavalry Officer’s Pattern and comprises a steel, three-bar hilt with fishskin and silver twistwire to the grip. Blade is single-fullered and with faint maker’s name of to the forte. To the reverse is an inset brass proof slug. The blade is etched with the regimental name, VR royal cypher, royal crown and scrolling foliage. To read a history of the regiment please go here. Complete with original steel scabbard.

With some wear to the blade.
