A good British C.1780 Infantry Officer’s Hanger Sword
This British C.1780 Infantry Officer’s Hanger Sword is a good example of the type of sword carried by British infantry officers towards the end of the 18th Century. It is of type used towards the end of the American Revolutionary War and probably out of common use by 1800. The sword comprises a cut steel decorated hilt and ebony grip, wrapped in silver twistwire. The plain blade is curved and double-fullered, being double-edged towards the end of the blade.
Condition of the Sword
With wear to the hilt and blade commensurate with its age.

Blade length is 25.5 inches (30 inches).
