A good example of a British C.1900 Masonic Dress Sword and Scabbard. This is a dress sword for a British mason during the 1900’s and possibly through to WW2. With typical brass cruciform hilt and brass twistwire to the hilt. The pommel is of oval form.
Double-edged blade etched with masonic motifs
Blade is etched with masonic motifs and attractive scrolling foliage. Complete with original scabbard that has a gilt letter “J” to the top – probably the owner’s initial or masonic designation. Excellent condition throughout. Blade length is 28 inches (33.5 inches overall).
