A large and original c.1900’s British James Dixon thistle pommel knife. These knives were very distinctive and comprise a thistle-shaped pommel with a finely chequered and bulbous grip that is secured by flattened metal pins. The blade is stamped to the famous British knife and brass/copper powder flask maker, James Dixon. The blade is narrow and with single-edged blade that is double-edged towards the end of the blade. Condition of the blade is good with some light age wear in places. The knife comes complete with its original brown leather scabbard. Blade length is 7 inches (12 inches overall).
