A scarce and fine British William IV 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword
This is a rare and early example of a British William IV 1822 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword from the short reign of King William IV (1830-1837). It comprises a distinctive Gothic hilt with fold down guard and a grip of fishskin wrapped with brass twistwire. The blade is of pipe back form. Comes complete with its original leather and brass mounted scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
In good overall condition – blade with light staining.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 32.5 inches (39 inches overall).
