A scarce and unusual C.1770 French or Continental Infantry Hanger Sword
This is a C.1770 French or Continental Infantry Hanger Sword of a type carried by European troops during the late-18th Century. It has the hilt style of French infantry soldiers’ hangers of the period and comprises a brass hilt with leather and brass twistwire to the grip. The blade is plain and slightly curved. No scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
Hilt in good condition – blade with heavy wear and oxidation.

Blade length is 20 inches (26 inches overall).
