An original and complete French Model ANXIII Cuirassier Trooper’s Sword dated 1815. A French Napoleonic heavy cavalry trooper’s sword with typical four-bar brass hilt with leather and brass twistwire to the grip. The blade is double-fullered and dated to April 1815 on the spine. The sword comes complete with a heavy iron scabbard.

This is the type of sword carried by the elite French heavy cavalry troopers that were present at the battle of Waterloo and is an iconic French sword model of the Napoleonic Wars. In good overall condition. Bottom hilt ferrule missing from grip – scabbard top throat also missing. Blade length is 37.5 inches (45 inches overall).
