A scarce and fine example of an Italian 19th/20th Century Infantry Sword and Scabbard. The hilt style is very typical of Italian military swords that I have encountered from this period and I am trying to track down the actual model – will update the listing if I find out and would appreciate any help to positively identify this sword. It is in excellent condition and retaining just about all the original blueing to the hilt and blade – I actually doubt whether this sword was ever issued as it does not show any wear to the blade. The blade grip appears to be made from a chequered composite material. With consecutive numbers to the hilt, blade and scabbard. The sword comes complete with its original blued steel and leather scabbard – again in excellent condition. Both sword and scabbard fit perfectly and there is no movement to the hilt and blade – both are rock solid. An unusual addition to any collection of Italian military swords. Blade length is 27 inches (33 inches overall).
