Late-19th Century Sudanese Kaskara Sword
A typical late-19th Century Sudanese Kaskara sword carried by native warriors and commonly used against the British Army in their colonial wars. With white metal cruciform hilt and pronounced langets. Rounded, leather bound grip and leather disc pommel. Wide, single-fullered blade with impressed running wolf marks – a common feature of these swords and in imitation of earlier European (German) sword blades. No scabbard.
