An original Mexican Spanish 19th Century Espada Ancha Short Sword
These swords were locally produced in the Spanish colonies, including Mexico and South America. They take many forms but this example is quite typical of the genre. It comprises a tubular grip made up of a ribbed grip and iron pommel and ferrule. The blade is hand forged, plain and slightly curved.
Condition of the Sword
In good condition with some wear to the blade commensurate with its age.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 22 inches (27 inches overall).
