A highly unusual British c.1800’s 1796 Pattern type Short Sword
This sword is probably a unique model as I have never seen one before and can only summise that it was produced in very small quantities and for use as a sidearm during the 19th Century. With a black painted stirrup hilt and leather and brass twistwire to the grip. Blade is unfullered and has been plated. Complete with its original leather and steel mounted scabbard.
Condition of the Sword
In very good condition with a little loss of paint in places.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 16 inches (22 inches overall).
