An original British C.1800’s Yeomanry Cavalry Officer’s Sword
Here we have a British C.1800’s Yeomanry Cavalry Officer’s Sword complete with original scabbard. This type of sword was carried by officers in British Yeomanry (militia) regiments during the Napoleonic Wars and comprises a ribbed ivory grip, brass twistwire and gilt brass stirrup hilt. Complete with original leather gilt brass mounted scabbard – chape missing.
Condition of the Sword
Chips and age crack to the hilt. Blade in worn condition. Scabbard leather worn and soft. Chape missing.
Specifications of the Sword
Blade length is 30 inches (35 inches overall).
