A very fine C.1800 Indo-Persian Decorated War Axe
A good example of an all-steel C.1800 Indo-Persian Decorated War Axe of large proportions and with inlaid silver decoration. The blade is deeply etched to both sides and comprises elaborate scenes of mounted warriors attacking eachother. They are surrounded by human heads and myriad floral decoration. The reverse of the blade has an elephant-shaped, hammer-type fitting that appears to be hollow. The steel shaft is also etched with swirling decoration to its entire length.

In excellent condition throughout with minor wear.
