Original and fine Turkish Ottoman 19th Century Kilij Shamshir Sword
A good example of a 19th Century Kilij-type sword with an excellent and substantial fighting blade. The hilt comprises a green horn slab grip secured by iron pins and a decorated brass backstrap and cast brass crossguard featuring a crescent moon and star motif seen on many Turkish swords of the period. The blade has a deeply etched panel with script and to the reverse, stamped armourer’s marks. Blade is double-fullered and of superior quality.

In fine condition overall with only light wear to the blade.
